It’s been interesting to see how the ‘new normal’ has slowly transitioned into our day to day lives. We’re now quite accustomed to joining a queue on our food shops, and whenever we leave the house the face masks and hand gel check has become as much as our routine as remembering our phone and keys. I hope your experience re-opening your store has been a positive one and we’d love to hear your experiences. You can email me at: editor@craftfocus.com
It’s been very sad to hear of many trade show cancellations including Autumn Fair and the London Stationery Show. We do enjoy visiting the exhibition centres, reconnecting with companies, having a chat and sourcing new designs as we browse the aisles. We look forward to the hustle and bustle returning in 2021.
This issue we have the first in our two-part Christmas series. There are some wonderful designs to decorate the home and make for loved ones. We also have a focus on knitting and crochet, soft crafts and card-making. As well as this, there’s all the latest industry news and the newest craft book releases.

With the majority of exhibition halls closing their doors for the remainder of 2020, Korbond will regrettably no longer be able to welcome you to its stand at Autumn Fair. However, the company is evolving and introducing innovative ways to engage with customers via a virtual and digital arena and is looking forward welcoming you to the home of Korbond, virtually.
Offering you advice, inspiration and support Korbond will guide you all the way on the journey from their home, to your home to your customers home. The company will bring you refreshed new ranges under the Creations by Korbond brand umbrella and practical products from the Care & Repair range, including creative core storage and brand new Sewing Machine Bags and Yarn Bags.
From 2nd to 9th September Korbond will be live streaming a series of tailored webinars, via Zoom, from the company's merchandising suite, hosting on-line meetings and Q&A sessions reviewing the best ranges for your outlet and consumers alike.
For the opportunity to receive a discount of up to 20 per cent on your first order placed in September 2020 (discount applies to standard pricing only). Priority book your 1:1 meeting with one of Korbond's haberdashery experts via the website: www.korbond.co.uk/contact-us

At the March Budget, the government announced key decisions on the design of the Plastic Packaging Tax ahead of its commencement in April 2022. This included extending the scope of the tax to plastic packaging which has been filled before being imported into the UK (i.e. bottles which are filled with liquid). Alongside the Budget announcement, the government launched a consultation to provide more information on the tax design and seek views from stakeholders. As a result of COVID-19, the government extended the consultation period by three months, with a new closing date of 20th August, 2020.... read more
